Osterøy Museum is beautifully located at Gjerstad, in the middle of Osterøy, 30 minutes from Bergen. This exciting open-air museum illustrates the way of life in the villages north of Bergen.

We gather artisans and textile enthusiasts in a network around the warp-weighted loom. The historical weaving technique is kept alive and renewed through collaborations with researchers, artists, and designers.

We offer guided tours in the old houses in the open air museum. Join the tour and learn more about people's way of life on the islands outside of Bergen.
