PLACE – People Living Arts through Community-based Empowerment and experiences

Museumssenteret i Hordaland is proud to be part of PLACE – People Living Arts through Community-based Empowerment and experiences, a European cooperation project funded by Creative Europe.

PLACE explores how biocultural heritage can strengthen rural communities, support sustainable development, and create new opportunities for participation, storytelling and local engagement across Europe.

The project brings together partners from Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, France, Spain and Norway to develop community-based models inspired by ecomuseum principles. Through mapping, study visits, training, mobility programmes and knowledge exchange, PLACE will support rural territories in safeguarding and renewing their cultural and natural heritage.

As part of the project, Museumssenteret i Hordaland will contribute with experience from participatory heritage management and community-based museum work in Norway.
