Veterandampskipet «Stord I» har avgang Bergen/Vågen frå Shetlands Larsens brygge søndag 7. juni 2026 kl. 11.00 for å segle til Salhus med ankomst ca. kl. 12.00. Under opphaldet i Salhus fram til kl. 15.00, kan du oppleva utviklinga frå strikkepinnar til, for si tid, avanserte strikkemaskinar frå 1930/1950-talet. «Stord I» representerer ein dampskipsperiode for rutebåtar frå 1880 – 1960.
PROGRAM
- 11.00 - Stord1 avgang frå Bergen
- 11.20 – (på båten) Introduksjon til John K. Raustein sitt kunstnarskap (ca. 20 min.) v/kurator Anneli Belsvik Aras
- ca 12.30 - Ankomst Salhus
- 12-14.00 - utforsk museet, kjøp lunsj i Krone kafé
- 14.00 – vandrande kunstnarsamtale i utstillinga
- 15.00 - retur med Stord1 til Bergen
Utstillinga er andre del av ein trilogi der Raustein undersøker identitet, erindring, farge og kroppsleg persepsjon gjennom tekstil som medium. Med byggeplassen som metafor skaper han monumentale installasjonar som tematiserer overgang, sårbarhet og tilhøyrsle.
Båtbilletten for vaksne og barn dekkar både båtturen og inngangsbillett til museet og kunstnaromvising.

The veteran steamship “Stord I” departs from Bergen/Vågen at Shetlands-Larsen’s quay on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 11:00, sailing to Salhus with arrival at approximately 12:00. During the stay in Salhus until 15:00, you can experience the development from knitting needles to, for their time, advanced knitting machines from the 1930s–1950s. “Stord I” represents the era of steam-powered scheduled passenger boats from 1880 to 1960.
PROGRAM
- 11:00 – Stord I departs from Bergen
- 11:20 – (on board) Introduction to John K. Raustein’s artistic practice (approx. 20 min.) by curator Anneli Belsvik Aras
- Approx. 12:30 – Arrival in Salhus
- 12:00–14:00 – Explore the museum, buy lunch at Krone Café
- 14:00 – Walking artist talk in the exhibition
- 15:00 – Return to Bergen with Stord I
The exhibition is the second part of a trilogy in which Raustein explores identity, memory, color, and bodily perception through textiles as a medium. Using the construction site as a metaphor, he creates monumental installations that address transition, vulnerability, and belonging.
The boat ticket for adults and children includes both the boat trip and admission to the museum, as well as the artist-guided tour.
