About us

Osterøy Museum is beautifully located at Gjerstad, in the middle of Osterøy, 30 minutes from Bergen. This exciting open-air museum illustrates the way of life in the villages north of Bergen.

Textile traditions

We gather artisans and textile enthusiasts in a network around the warp-weighted loom. The historical weaving technique is kept alive and renewed through collaborations with researchers, artists, and designers.
