Sustainable conservation, knowledge and expertise
The Conservation Department is the main hub for conservation and collections care for museums in Vestland county, and is responsible for a joint storage facility. We offer a number of courses aimed at museum professionals in subjects such as IPM, preservation of plastic objects, mould in museum collections, and handling of objects and textiles.
Our skilled conservators work on various types of materials, including textiles, metal, leather, wood, glass and bone for museums, individuals, institutions, and churches.
We perform condition assessments in connection with exhibitions, and can offer advice on exhibition methods. Contact us for advice on the preservation of textiles, objects, and historic interiors.
