At the Heathland Centre you can meet the Old Norwegian Sheep, popularly called ‘Wild sheep’. Wander in a historic landscape as it has been on the coast of Western Norway for 5000 years. Visit the exhibition about wool and knitting, watch a film about the coastal heathlands, and enjoy ‘wild sheep’ soup in the restaurant. The museum shop offers a range of products like sheepskins and yarn made from local wool.

The Heathland Centre at Lygra, a living museum and a national knowledge centre for coastal heathlands. A cultural landscape that is 5000 years old and still produces food and wool. Visit the heathlands that we protect through active farming.
